The large gear, also known as the large gear ring, is a key
component of equipment such as rotary kilns and ball mills. Among
them, the large gear ring of the rotary kiln is one of the most
crucial components in the rotary kiln's transmission device. Its
installation quality directly affects the stability of the rotary
kiln's transmission system, the stability of the rotary kiln's
operation, the service life of the kiln lining, and the operation
rate of the rotary kiln.
Due to the requirements of manufacturing capacity, transportation
and installation, the large gear ring is composed of two half
gears, which are connected together by mating screws and
tangentially fixed to the kiln body by a spring plate. To complete
the installation and alignment of large gear rings with high
quality, whether it is a new installation or a reset installation
after a major overhaul, a scientific and feasible construction plan
must be formulated.

The material of the large gear is ZG45 or ZG42CrMO high-quality
alloy cast steel, with a heat treatment hardness of HB260 ~ 300.
The carburizing, quenching and grinding process is adopted, with
the tooth surface hardness ranging from HRC57 to 61. The other
large gear is of a two-half split structure, and the tooth
amplitude adopts a Y-shaped structure to ensure good rigidity of
the gear.
3. It has a simple structure, which is convenient for processing,
manufacturing and daily maintenance.
The flange of the large gear is processed on both sides and can be
matched with the flange of the cylinder body, allowing it to be
turned around for use. The pinion and the shaft are integrally
forged. The two ends of the shaft are symmetrical and both are
milled with keyways, which can also be turned around for use.
