A pintle is a pin or stud that attaches the rudder to the rudder
post or rudder arm. Generally made into a cone, according to its
position and function, respectively known as the upper pintle, the
lower pintle. Rudder pintle is a hull structure consisting of upper
rudder pintle and lower rudder pintle. Is a Marine engineering
term. During maintenance, the gap of rudder pintle is often too
large, which exceeds the requirements of vessel inspection. In
fact, the rudder pintle is in good condition, and the rudder pintle
bearing is too worn, which leads to the replacement of rudder
pintle bearing.
